Safety Valves & Pressure Relief Devices

Authorized Lines Sized to Your Service and Backed by Our Own Repair Shops

If you need an authorized source for a specific brand, a relief device that has to be ready ahead of a shutdown, or help sizing a spec, TRIVACO can handle it. TRIVACO is a contracted distributor for Kunkle, Continental Disc/Groth, and Protego safety valves and relief devices. We keep Kunkle in stock locally for fast turnaround, and our shops hold National Board VR certification to repair safety valves from any manufacturer.

Where Safety Valve Orders Get Stuck

We can address every one of these at the quoting stage.

The Lines We Are Authorized to Sell, and Where

Contract terms with each manufacturer define the geography we can sell into. TRIVACO holds contracted distribution for the following across our territory: Kunkle, LESER, Continental Disc Corporation/Groth Corporation, and Protego. This means factory pricing, warranty coverage that survives a claim, and documentation traceable to the manufacturer.

If you are outside our region, tell us anyway. We will point you at the right authorized source rather than sell you something we cannot support.

Safety Valves and Relief Devices We Supply

Kunkle Safety Valves

Kunkle spring-operated safety and relief valves come in bronze and steel bodies to ASME Section I and Section VIII, and we assemble and stock them locally.

LESER

LESER builds German-engineered spring-loaded safety valves to API 526, with clean and critical service designs, changeover valves, and bursting discs.

Continental Disc | Groth Corporation

Continental Disc rupture discs and holders pair with Groth relief valves, emergency vents, and flame arrestors for storage tanks.

Protego

Protego builds pressure and vacuum relief valves, deflagration and detonation flame arrestors, and in-line vent equipment for tank farms and terminals.

Taylor Valve

TRIVACO distributes the full Taylor Valve line: safety relief valves, pilot operated valves, chokes, and back pressure regulators.

Kunkle Safety Valves, Assembled and Stocked Locally

TSV Service & Sales, a division of TRIVACO in Indianapolis, is the Factory Authorized Assembler of Kunkle relief valves for the State of Indiana and western Kentucky. We hold local Kunkle inventory and ship direct, so common configurations do not sit behind a factory lead time.

Buying for resale? We supply Kunkle safety valves through the distribution channel and will drop ship to your customer under your order.

What to Check When You Specify a Relief Device

Answer these, and TRIVACO can size the device in one pass.

Application Engineering, Repair Experience

TRIVACO has been selling and servicing pressure relief devices for over 55 years. Our engineers see what fails in the field and what fails on the test bench, and that shapes how we spec your next valve. That feeds directly into how we spec a new device for you.

Free Safety Valve Survey

Most relief valve emergencies happen because a test or recertification date was missed. We walk your plant, tag every device we find, and send you a written report on what’s installed and what needs attention. You decide from there whether to repair or replace, and we can do either. Send us your tag list and your outage dates, and we’ll tell you what fits inside the window.

Already Have Valves in Service?

Repair on a certified valve usually runs a fraction of what a new one costs. TRIVACO holds National Board VR Certificates across our regional shops to inspect, restore, and reset your existing safety valves within ASME tolerances, and return them fully documented.

Our Indianapolis shop keeps manufacturer specifications on file for Kunkle, Farris, Consolidated, Crosby, and others, which means we can service most code-stamped relief valves regardless of who built them.

Running Masoneilan control valves? Our Canton, GA shop is a Baker Hughes Masoneilan Authorized Repair Center.

Safety Valve Questions We Get Asked

Is TRIVACO an authorized distributor for these brands, and can you sell to my location?

We hold contracted distribution for the lines on this page across a defined territory. Manufacturer agreements set the geography, so availability depends on where your plant sits. Call 800.500.8889 with your location and the brand and we will confirm in one call.

We carry local Kunkle inventory through TSV Service & Sales, where we are a Factory Authorized Assembler with no geographical boundaries. Other lines and non-standard configurations are quoted with a real lead time at the time of order.

A safety valve pops open fully and fast, which is what compressible service like steam and gas requires. A relief valve opens in proportion to how far over setpoint the system is, which suits liquid service. A safety relief valve is built to work either way depending on how it is applied.

It depends on jurisdiction, service, and the governing code. Many plants run annual testing on steam service and stretch to three or five years on clean process service, with test history driving the interval. Your jurisdiction and your inspector set the requirement.

Usually, if we know the dates. Send us the tag list and the window and we will tell you what fits and what needs a replacement unit ordered instead. For valves that cannot come off the unit, our mobile VR trailer runs the same certified process on your site.

Replace when the body or nozzle is damaged past machining limits, when the model is obsolete and parts are gone, or when a process change puts the valve outside its design conditions. In most other cases, a certified VR repair costs a fraction of a new unit.

A rupture disc alone works where you can accept the system venting until someone replaces the disc. Pairing a disc under an SRV protects the valve from corrosive, sticky, or polymerizing media and eliminates seat leakage, and the valve reseats after the event. Corrosive service and tight fugitive emissions limits are the two conditions that usually point to the pairing.

Nameplate data with set pressure, capacity certification, and material test reports when your order specifies them. If you also use us for repair, all of it can live in ValvKeep® under your tag number.

Send Us the Service Conditions and We Will Find the Valve

A safety valve is only as good as the information behind it. Tell us what the line carries and how the system is supposed to behave if pressure gets away from it. That’s usually enough for us to tell whether you need a new valve or a repair, and to size it correctly either way. What comes back is a specific recommendation, matched to your process and quoted by an engineer who has probably repaired the exact valve you’re replacing. Pricing and lead time come with it, so there’s no back-and-forth to get a straight answer.
