Why Plants Specify Taylor Valve
- Self-aligning seat technology. Taylor pioneered the self-aligning seat, and it still separates their relief valves from spring-loaded valves that lose seat tightness after a few cycles. The disc finds the seat on every reseat instead of hammering a fixed surface.
- Code compliance across the line. Valves are built to ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section XIII, Division 1, and the flanged high-capacity series carry NBBI capacity certification. The 2500 Series meets API 526 and API 527 with orifices D through T, and Canadian Registration Numbers are available.
- Pressure range that covers the hard cases. The 8250 handles set pressures to 10,000 psi in the C orifice. The 1500 Series runs from 15 psi to 6,170 psi across a temperature range of -300°F to +800°F.

8250 Series Safety Relief Valve
The Original Self-Aligning Technology®
The 8250 is built to ASME Section XIII, Division 1 for air, gas, and liquid relief, and it shows up on compressors, separators, heater treaters, free water knockouts, scrubbers, dehydrators, thermal relief, gas production units, transmission and gathering lines, meter runs, gas plants, refineries, and chemical plants.

9300 Series Pilot Operated Safety Valve
Snap Acting or Modulating, with a Non-Flowing Pilot
When you are running close to set pressure and cannot afford simmer or product loss, the 9300 holds tight until it needs to open. The snap acting version uses a non-flowing pilot for overpressure protection and is code certified for air, gas, vapor, and most mixed phase service. The modulating version starts to open near set point and reaches full capacity under overpressure, with certification for air, gas, and liquid.

19BV Series Balanced Disc Pressure Relief Valve
For Systems with Variable Back Pressure
Built-up or superimposed back pressure will pull a conventional relief valve off its set point. The 19BV is a direct spring operated, soft-seated, balanced valve with a balanced disc and cage guided assembly, certified for both gas and liquid on both orifices, so one valve covers applications where back pressure moves around.
- Soft seat holds leak free to 90% of set pressure

8400 Series Vapor Valve
Relief Where Vapors Have to Be Piped Away
The 8400 protects vessels operating below 15 psi while keeping hazardous vapor out of the atmosphere. It holds safe internal working pressure and routes what it relieves into a closed system. Typical duty includes glycol reboiler safety relief, BTEX safety relief, low-pressure vessel relief, and tank blanketing.
7700 Series Back Pressure Regulator
Simple, Field-Adjustable Pressure Control
Upstream pressure acts on a lapped piston loaded by a spring, and the valve opens at a set pressure you can adjust in the field. It handles both relief and control duty in liquid and gas service, and it does it without an air supply or a positioner.

Sealing and flow dynamics that comply with current fugitive emissions requirements, sized for high pressure drop service in gas, liquid, and vapor. ANSI Class IV shutoff, quarter-turn operation across the full range, clear orifice position indication, and an optional flow tube for cavitation and erosion protection.
MDA and MDI Series Choke Valves.
Heavy construction for quick open and close duty with abrasive fluids at high pressure drops. ANSI Class IV shutoff, quarter-turn operation, and an optional wear sleeve where cavitation and erosion are a concern.
Actuator options are available across the RB, MC, and MD series, including electric and pneumatic packages. TRIVACO handles the mounting, bracketry, and actuation sensing in house at our Hebron, KY facility.

What is self-aligning seat technology?
It is a design that lets the disc find the seat on its own during reseating rather than returning to a fixed position. Taylor Valve introduced it, and it is the reason their relief valves hold tightness over repeated lifts where conventional designs start to weep.
What is the difference between a direct spring relief valve and a pilot operated relief valve?
A direct spring valve, like the Taylor 8250 or 1500 Series, uses spring force alone to hold the disc closed and opens when process pressure overcomes it. A pilot operated valve, like the 9300 Series, uses process pressure itself to load the main valve through a pilot, which lets it stay tight much closer to set pressure. If you run at 90% of set pressure or higher, or if product loss from simmer is expensive, the pilot operated design usually pays for itself.
