Valve Repair

Your Valve Isn't Just Broken. Your Process Is Losing Ground.

Generic repair shops restore function. TRIVACO restores performance, engineered to the tolerances your control loops, safety systems, and next inspection actually demand.

Repair Gets You Running. Optimization Keeps You There.

Most valve failures don’t announce themselves with a catastrophic event. They show up first as control loop instability, unexplained process variance, or a relief device that lifts slightly off setpoint during a normal operating cycle.

A valve that passes a basic function test can still be costing you efficiency, throughput, and regulatory confidence.

TRIVACO’s valve repair process combines certified restoration with diagnostic-level evaluation, so when your valve returns to service, your process performs the way it was designed to.

Control Valve Repair & Process Loop Optimization

Control valves are precision instruments. When a valve develops stiction — friction-induced hesitation in the actuator or packing — it introduces dead band into your control loop. The result is process oscillation, setpoint overshoot, and product variability that your DCS can’t fully compensate for.

We diagnose and correct the failure modes that generic shops miss:

Stiction &
Hysteresis

Stiction in the valve stem creates the classic stick-slip response that drives loop cycling. Hysteresis — the lag between signal and response — directly widens control band. We evaluate both through stroke testing and actuator bench diagnostics, then correct at the mechanical source rather than masking it with tuning.

Cavitation &
Flash Damage

Liquid service valves operating near vapor pressure are vulnerable to cavitation, the collapse of vapor bubbles that erodes trim, destroys seat surfaces, and generates noise and vibration that shortens valve life. We assess trim geometry, material compatibility, and pressure recovery characteristics to determine whether repair, trim replacement, or application re-matching is the right call.

Seat Tightness
Testing

Seat leakage testing is performed in accordance with, or exceeding, the seat class ratings specified by each manufacturer. If your application requires a specific shutoff class, we verify it and document it for your records.

Application Matching Review

If your control valve is the right model in the wrong application, the wrong Cv, the wrong trim style for the fluid, or the wrong actuator sizing, we flag it. You should know before the valve goes back in the pipe.

Our Canton, GA shop is our designated Masoneilan Authorized Repair Center (MARC) for control valve service. All control valve work is backed by factory-certified tooling, OEM parts, and complete documentation.

Safety Relief Valve Repair You Can Document at the Next Inspection

Safety relief valves protect personnel, equipment, and your facility’s operating license. When they fail to lift at setpoint — or fail to reseat — the consequences are measured in incidents, not inconvenience.

TRIVACO holds three National Board VR Certificates across four regional shops, authorizing us to inspect, verify, and re-establish OEM specifications for all critical parts, then set every device within ASME-specified tolerances using calibrated measurement and test equipment, with full documentation retained.

That distinction matters. A “test only” is a basic pop test that may have been performed by an organization with no demonstrated level of quality or competency. If an unrecognized organization repairs or cuts the lead seals on an ASME device, that valve no longer falls under ASME or National Board certification. There is no recognized standard for the set pressure or relieving capacity of a valve serviced outside a certified VR program.

What our SRV process covers:

We also hold the ASME V Stamp (Section I — power boiler safety valves), ASME UV Stamp (Section VIII — pressure vessel safety valves), and the National Board NB Stamp for Registration and Capacity Certification.

Baker Hughes Masoneilan Authorized Repair Center (MARC)

TRIVACO’s Canton, GA shop is a Baker Hughes Masoneilan Authorized Repair Center,  factory-certified to inspect, diagnose, repair, recalibrate, and return Masoneilan control valves using OEM parts, factory procedures, and the right tooling.

That certification matters when you need warranty status preserved, manufacturer-traceable service records, or documentation that holds up in a regulated environment

MARC service at TRIVACO includes:

Your Valve History. Accessible. Permanent.

One of the most consistent failure points in industrial maintenance programs isn’t the valve — it’s the paperwork. Service records that live in a technician’s head. Test data that doesn’t survive a personnel transition. Certification documents that can’t be located at inspection time.

ValvKeep® Asset Management Software gives you a web-based, always-accessible record of every valve we’ve touched: repair history, test data, set pressures, parts used, and certification documentation — organized by tag number and accessible to your team from any browser.

When your inspector asks for the last SRV service record, you have it. When you’re troubleshooting a control valve for the third time in two years, you can see why.
